I have a 2011 Toyota avalon that I have had for many years and never liked the auto rain sensing feature. Finally went to google some answers and found your video and 2 minutes back to good old fashion delayed wipers!!! I wish I would have done this 150k miles ago.

This worked on my 2011 ES350. The rain sensors were set up for those people you see driving with their wipers on full blast in a mist. I can’t stand them going faster than need be. Thank you for the video 👍🏼😎

This worked on my 2018 Toyota Limited Platinum. The Toyota dealership in town wanted to charge me somewhere between $500 and $600 to get a replacement for my broken auto sensing wipers. This is much better and thanks. I Love You-Tube.

THANK YOU ! This worked on a 2008 Toyota Avalon Limited as well. I prefer INT wipers over these spastic auto wipers myself and its free and takes 1 minute to do .

Thanks so much for the helpful advice on the rain sensor wipers disable. I didn't like the way my Lexus ES was operating on Auto wipers. Now it's in regular intermittent mode. 👍👍

This worked on my brand new 2024 Civic Touring. Thanks a lot for the video man. Wouldnt have occurred to me to try it. Highly disliked the rain sensing wipers. Take too long to wipe or even worse I like to use the INT mode when there is fog that constantly fogs up the windshield. Would not swipe as it wasnt detecting rain and would have to manually swipe every time 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 INT mode is so
Much better, guaranteed wipe every 3/6/8/12 seconds.

Thank you.

I managed to ‘break’ the gel seal when installing a dash cam too close to the sensor housing and your fix has worked quickly and easily. The rain sensing wipers were always a little annoying anyway as they didn’t seem to manage too well the decision about when to operate. I’m happy with the four standard intermittent options now available for me to initiate and control. I have a 2008 UK RX400h.

Thanks again.

Thank you a lot buddy. Got used es350 and it was driving me nuts. It would hold/wait too much while driving to the point that I finally give up and do a manual "push", then, all of the sudden it would start going crazy when stopped on traffic light.... go figure.

@ XJLuxury; I have the the 2004 RX330 as well. Can you tell me how you removed the rain sensor black box off? Your video already has it off. Did you squeeze and slide, pull the cover off at the top or bottom??? I just don't want to break anything by forcing it off by pulling. Yeah, the rain sensing feature sucks because it does NOT work too well. I rather have intermittent wipers. BTW, Thanks for the great DIY video!

This worked on 2014 gs350. I guess toyota put this system in place just in case sensor completely fails. My sensor cost over $300 for part. On my car push back the sensor towards the the sunroof to release it. Thanks alot for video

I'll have to give this a go tomorrow.
The rain sensor was always terrible but I had my windscreen replaced and the idiots broke the mechanism. So doesn't detect and doesn't do intermittent. I'll try just disconnecting it.

Did this to my 2013 RX 350 (AL10); worked wonders.
Problem now is that I have to have the wiper stock on "AUTO/INT" before I turn the car on just to be able to adjust the timing of the wipers; otherwise, they'll only wipe every four seconds. Any suggestions as to what to do next?
