I have now a 6HP Tohatsu. It was less expensive than the Honda, but is NOT rubber isolated and vibrates like the devil. The Tohatsu has been very reliable and runs great, but if I had to do it again I would pay the extra for the Honda just to get the vibration isolation. Also I have a 1999 50HP Honda, used year round in salt, that is still going strong so that's a good sign for Honda quality.

That 4 hp motor is heavier than the old Evinrude 8 hp motors, but they were 2 stroke twins. I don't know man, it looks like too much weight for the boat as it's going on the water, to me.

Older models are particularly heavy and very elaborate. But solid.

That boat you are using, what is the weight capacity of it. The reason I'm asking is I'm in the process of getting a Porta-bote 14' model and I want to put that Honda BF6 on it. But the boat has a weight rating of 880lbs. and I need to know if with that BF6, if I can get a plane with the boat at full capacity. The boat can use up to a 9.9 on it but I like the BF6 motor as you can use the internal fuel tank as well as an external tank, plus you can't beat the portability and weight of it.

Sir what the different between long shaft and short shaft... is long shaft ok to use the same boat as short shaft...??? ... any problem..?? Please help

I personally wouldn’t run ethanol fuel trough an outboard or any small engine

Why the hell would u build a 4 a 5 and a 6 hp motor. That's stupid to me. If they all come from the same outboard and the same weight.
