Once you have chosen the perfect engagement ring design... one additional aspect you want to make sure you don't neglect is getting the right RING SIZE! An engagement ring should fit pretty snug and there should be some level of resistance when putting it on or removing it.
Having the right finger size for your engagement ring is important for several reasons: ensuring it does not fall off, making sure it stays upright, and avoid having it re-sized too much which could hurt the integrity of the ring. While there are certain at-home techniques to use find our your ring size there is no 100% accurate method unless you get sized in-store with Lauren B

Thank you for this. I just got my ring sized at Kay and it was a 5 3/4. It made me nervous because I have a fake ring at home that's a 6 that fits fine but it does still twist a little. So I'll go with the 5 3/4 and see what happens.

so my girlfriend wears 6.5 on her middle finger, assuming 6 should be good for ring finger? or maybe go 5.5 and resize it up if its too snug? thanks in advance!

Is that possible to resize from 4 to 6?

My gf is a size 7 for her index finger, I got her ring size 6.5, will it be too big?

If both 5 and 5.5 fit the ring finger which should you go for if you want a snug but not tight fit?

You sizes are different? Why would that be? I have a ring gauge that says my pinky is 6 1/2. At 59 mm the charts say my pinky is a size 9. I'm not seeing any conversions from U.S. to International where 6 1/2 translates into a size 9. Most rings start at 8 if you're buying on Amazon. Where does one start to clear up all this confusion?
