I built my new computer a few months ago with the NH-D15. I was worried that it wouldn't be able to cool the 13900k, but after imposing the TDP limits in my motherboard it has no problem keeping it cool. I know the price point of top-end air coolers are creeping into AIO territory, but I'd still rather have a single point of failure with the fans than the multiple points of failure on an AIO.

Gotta throw this up there for the budget category but with mid to high tier performance air cooling, I just bought it for my rig: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler - it's a big ole savage beast, working good for the 5800x. Price tag is amazing!

The one air cooler that I would recommend missing from this is the Peerless Assassin. Same thermals as the NH-D15 at a fraction of the price.

Thanks, but how is it possible that you didn't talk about the Thermalright PA 120? It's the closest to the D15 in performance, but at the Budget price.
It's just the best bang for the buck you can find

i have a Thermaltake CPU liquid cooler and it sucks, i wouldn't recommend it to anybody . It has two fans . every time i turn on the pc in the morning after having using it for 8 or 4 hours, the cooler starts making a rattling sound and after i turn it on and off again the sounds disappear .

I am planning to buy a coolermaster MASTERLIQUID ML240L V2 RGB.I hope it doesn't disappoint me.

Thermalright Frost Spirit is probably one of the best peforming air coolers for around the same price as the budget coolers in this video. It is a large beast to be sure, but works with tall ram kits. The worst thing about it is that it isn't the prettiest cooler.

i feel like these products recommendations were made exclusively on price, not actual cooling capacity.

very sad that you did not mention the thermalright peerless assassin for $40. Excellent cooler for the price, IMO best bang/buck out there

I built myself a new pc, picked the 7800x3d and a Noctua D15s to cool it. Idle sits about 37-39c, average gaming load about 45-50c. But when starting a program or when I get a heavy load, it shoots up to about 70-80c but comes back down in a few seconds. I've underclocked it a bit for now to keep temps tamer and help it's lifespan, messed with the fan-curves and set my ram's rgb as temp indicators, but I'm starting to considder going for a heavy-duty aio instead. Was trying to find something with active-chilling tech but couldn't find anything like that. I want to keep it chill during those high loads and preferably not see temps go above 70c at all.

You said the high end ones will handle anything? Compared to some of the mid-tiers, what benchmarks are you using to make this claim? 500 bucks for an AIO that has a screen, but does it perform better than the mid tiers? Feels like if you're going to tell people what to buy for cooling, maybe some charts about how well they cool would be step 1.

Darkrock Pro 4 is best in my mind. It is almost as good as the D15 but quieter. Saying this from experience, I've had both.

Sooo, no actual thermals, just you shopping around Amazon and reading the specs. Gotcha.

Great video. I have to wonder when we will see our first AIO cooler with a larger CPU contact area. With both Ryzen and especially Intel CPUs getting bigger, I feel like there is space for that as an option.

Yeah, you glossed over the Thermalright coolers. They are dominating the market and tests all over the place. In fact, it would be fine on my Ryzen 9 7950x build as well. It's a beast.

Great video. Exactly what I was looking for

I can not recommend NZXT as I have a Kraken X63 that is about two years old with a super loud ticking pump and it's mounted properly on the top of my case. I won't be buying NZXT again.

From Corsair, the iCUE H115i won't work with LGA without the CW-8960091 standoffs which aren't included.

My i9-14900K idles at 39-41 My i9 and bios are updated with 64gb XMP turned on. Lian-Li Galahad II LCD AIO 360mm, ARGB Push-Pull Fans, RTX 4080 Super, UltraGear 240hz 45 inch monitor. I play AAA games all on Max setting with Wallpaper Engine, HWMonitor 64, Fence 3, Ring cameras, Music player all running in the background. No issues at all and no temps ever reach over 75 degrees. However, when I ran Cinbench it throttles, but no high temps, just core power limits. I don't trust or will ever run Cinbench again because it's to much demand on the CPU, GPU. It's like putting you truck in park and pushing the accelerator al the way to the floor to see the highest RPM. That's why it's RED to warn you. It's the same with a CPU. After a wile you will blow your engine, don't stress you CPU to red. that's crazy.
