Joe Biden visits Poland to give reassurances to NATO countries

US President Joe Biden has travelled to Poland to give reassurances to NATO allies whose security is threatened by the war in Ukraine.

The President has also offered support in tackling the refugee crisis caused by the conflict.

Mr Biden will discuss with his Polish counterpart whether to arm Ukraine with more powerful weapons such as tanks and jets.

“We are in favour of supporting the Ukraine whatever they need; we should as NATO, as the European Union, consider what can we offer but once again it should be done jointly,” Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said.
