Foothill residents create wildfire safety plans as new California agency meets

California has a new agency designed to reduce the risks of wildfires across the state. The Wildfire Safety Advisory Board has scientists on it, utility experts and others who will provide independent outside expertise to help the California Public Utility Commission's new wildfire safety division. Retailers and residents in Colfax said they never heard of the Wildfire Safety Advisory Board and are working on their own plans to make their community safe, including finding new escape routes in the event of a wildfire to avoid the traffic jams experienced in Paradise.
