I have a questions please, do we need any ODBC (or JDBC) driver to make connection between Cloudera and Oracle ?

I have tried this and there is error saying "Must specify destination with --target-dir". Its asking for target directory even if the table is external. PLease help!

here you are creating an extrenal table in hive data warehouse, external table should be in non hive area, or somwhere in hdfs right ?
