What is Digital Inclusion? Bridging the Digital Divide.

Within each county across the Centralina region, there are communities lacking consistent internet access. This digital divide is the result of limited broadband availability and affordability, along with individuals not having the skills needed to effectively engage online. Digital inclusion is an approach for bridging this divide and ensuring a more digitally equitable region where everyone has the ability to connect to and use the internet.

Through a partnership with the Institute for Emerging Issues at NC State University, Centralina is supporting county governments in developing digital inclusion strategies to eliminate barriers to broadband access and technology use.
