Paid Setups vs Free Setups On F1 23

I compare free setups from the time trial leaderboards, as well as from an AI chatbot with setups that you have to pay for - which one is better?

My wheel is the Fanatec CSL DD Boost Kit, buy direct from Fanatec:

"Look for someone that you don't think is hacking or cheating", picks Weigang's setup over Ronhaar's. Love it !

The fact good setups are now behind pay walls just shows to me that we are going backwards when it comes to accessibility.

the paid setups are 5EUR/track and 75 EUR for all tracks like bro I ain't paying my sallary for 0, 2% tirewear and 0, 06 seconds faster lap💀

"all you do is you go to the timetrial leaderboards, you scroll to the very top and you have a look for someone that you don't think is hacking or cheating"

*scrolls past Ronhaar*

Paid setups are a scam, You have to make your own setup tailored to your needs not everybody drives the same and everyone likes a different feel.

It would be interesting to see the difference over a full / 50% race.

I better be receiving Jarno Opmeer's setup when I exchange that with my cash.

Go to TT, get setup.

Go to practice, adjust as needed for high fuel running.

Do 50%gp and make sure you can actually fight and overtake

imagine paying for a setup lol. i really enjoy your content because you're realistic and not too deep into the whole gaming/community scene.

If you are paying for Setups you've already lost

I think it's worth experimenting with a few of the faster TT setups and ideally find a single top driver who's setups work well for you. I found some didn't work well for me due to different driving styles (e.g. I found I couldn't drive Jarno's very well) whereas I find Otis Lawrence's setups consistently work really well me. And I think this is one of the problems with paid setups, they assume your driving style is the same as the person who created it. This may or may not suit you. Also, if you're a few seconds off their fastest time, it may not be a good match for you and you might want something with more stability.
Note; I tend to increase the brake bias with Otis's setups as I find 50% (which he often has) is too oversteery for me when braking into slow corners. I normally use 53%. If you're using ABS, that shouldn't be a problem.

I tried a couple paid setups from SRC and in a 50% race it made a huge difference. You get a ton of info also. If you league race and want to understand setups better SRC helps alot

It makes lots of sense the payed has better tire wear it’s a time trial setup it doesn’t care at all for the tire wear

I love SRC setups. I’m not the best driver but I have full confidence to push flat out with the setups with no fear of losing the car.

But did you adjust the tt pressures for tyre wear? I would like to see a more detailed video on that, maybe comparing it during a whole Stint and making simple Personal changes like pressures and wings to tt setup, even tho i realiseyou might waste a lot of time doing that

TT setup is always good, but the issue is straight line speed and ERS management. TT setup is usually with more downforce. You will in many times be a sitting duck on the straight. ERS management is not good as well due to the effect of drag.
But for quali, yes, TT setup is pretty decent online as well. Maybe only change tire pressure.
But when you take wings out, it changes the entire setup (suspension, car height, toe, diff..) to try to generate turning, dood tyre deg with less wings.
In general, to play againist Ai, i agree TT setup is nice. But play online in leagues is a different story for the majority of the circuits.

The SRC setups are really good and worth the money. Would I ever purchase one though? Absolutely not.
