LIVE: Election Commission of India Announces Assembly Elections Schedule | India Elections 2024

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for assembly polls for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Jammu and Kashmir will be casting their votes in three phases. The first phase will be on September 18, the second phase will be on September 25 and the third phase will be on October 1. Haryana will be voting in one phase on October 1. The counting of votes will be done on October 4. The ECI is yet to announce the dates for Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The Election Commissioner of India, Rajiv Kumar said that, they want to focus on the J&K elections for now and would later announce the schedule for other states and UTs.
