As someone who paid for a master's degree (unrelated field, geoscience), I agree even though it was roughly 40k but still hurts. At least become a GA and do it for free if the university allows it and you're a strong enough candidate (if you really want it for specific purposes like working in academia).

Get certs or degrees only when not having them is a blocker. Learn what you need to learn and don’t waste your time collecting certs. This is what 16+ years of career in the field have taught me.
