My landlord always tells me if I have a problem I always have the option to move that's her answer to everything. If you go to the courts then your landlord will retaliate by finding a reason to put you out.

If you ever move into a place and the landlord doesn’t want to fix anything this is what you do take plenty of pictures and take video footage and go to your police station file a report and you’ll go to court they will brake that least and you can pack up and move to the wild blue yonder and make sure when you rent a house check the water to see if it’s hot and working in tubs and sinks make sure the locks work on doors make sure you tell the landlord you want it sprayed for bugs before you move in.

My landlords refuse to do repairs on my rental like regular maintenance sealing window, repairing the holes in walls inside and outside, leaky pipes checking that insulation is against floor the list goes on and on. So this year in February my electric bill was 92 % higher than last year so I got a google nest thermostat and it whet to below normal after that but then a super old mini transformer for the furnace blew out the new thermostat was blamed but I think it blew out before because something caused that electric increase. So not only are they going to put back the old one and for my electric to be increased once again they are also stating their taxes are skyrocketing and they will be raising the rent. Please help. I’m not the only one that this behaviour is affecting. Every time I ask them to fix something they either say it’s inspection time or I get a retaliatory letter on my door.

I've been renting an apt for a little over a year on HOPES and landlord hot air that he's gonna fix it. Ive never been behind on rent, but the past 3 or 4 months he acts like I'm behind on rent. Then last month with no notice whatsoever it's posted on the sherrif's website and the paper that the property is UP FOR PUBLIC AUCTION! Then it got cancelled- NOW ITS UP FOR AUCTION THIS MONTH! I would move but there is no place in town to rent and I'm on SSDI so I cannot afford a car(mainly because my rent is 87% of my monthly income. I dont know what Im gonna do. I'll probably squat til they come haul me to jail but If I keep paying rent, how is this legal???

Fix the problem yourself, then deduct the amount from the rent

i have a front door thats over 21 years old n if u pull too hard n the doorknob falls off, then when the ceiling was leaking the landlord fixed the roof but the water caused bubbles in the wall n landlord came in n cut holes in the bubbles n water spilled all over the floor, i asked landlord to caulk the bottom of baseboards bc cold air comes in but he also won't do that n i offered to buy a new door so i don't have to deal with this old one thats a piece of crap!!

Help IM a senior low income having rats cockroach problem work order given reported to health department they said they can't tell them how and what to do just to fix it spoke to three co they said we have infestation whole bldg needs to be done guy in charge of repairs said they won't do it and most likely we will always have them. Spoke to housing assembly person no one helping. What can I do termination.
