That last PK save by D'Angelo was sneaky, she faked one way and waited for Matheson to commit and then made the save in the opposite direction.

The playoffs have been so exciting that they will bring in a whole lot of fans. Especially now that the talent has increased everywhere, and more teams are loaded with it.
Dunn, Mewis, and Williams will be heavy favorites to make the Women's National Team.
OK. I am still stunned by Dunn's finishing touch. That little girl is deadly, and no goalie can stop those shots where they were placed! That goal against England was no fluke!

Some great individual moments within a very choppy and sloppy game. Western New York ultimately won by playing ugly and imposing their style of play, keeping the Washington forwards at bay with the offside trap, scrapping and wearing out the Washington defense with their speed and taking and making their opportunities when the moments presented themselves. The Spirit had more talented and skilled players but the Flash ultimately played better as a team and it was enough to force it to overtime and penalty kicks. The Spirit players looked more nervous and drained going into the shootout and gave D'Angelo some easy shots to save. Gutty victory and hopefully this stabilizes the team and market and creates excitement for the team moving forward. Soccer is the kind of sport that generally grows one team and city at a time and it would be a great story for the league and women's game here for the smallest market to create something special using this championship as a springboard.

Add Mewis to the list of USWNT players not to take penalties. @Dunn where you at during penalties? I was rooting for the Spirit until Ordega's nonsense at the end. Good luck Ohai, Williams, and the rest of the new faces on the USWNT.
