Shure SLX-D - AMAZING WIRELESS SYSTEM - Demo/Overview/Setup/Guide

In today's video, we are checking out the Shure SLX-D wireless system for microphones/guitar/bass/vocals/lav mics/etc and why I chose it as my main wireless for my vocal mic. In this demo, I will go over the overview, setup, and guide you through how to use the system. The SLX-D in my opinion is where you really start to get to a pro-level wireless microphone system. So if you want to start taking your wireless seriously, and not spend as much as something like the ULX-D, this is a great system to look into.

Scott, your videos are always great and very informative. I'm definitely interested in you finishing the Shure series with a video on the Axient wireless. Appreciate you!

I have 2 of the dual beta 58 systems.. the best wireless systems I’ve ever owned. NEVER a problem or drop out. Can’t reccomend enough. Plus the rechargeable lithium batteries will save you $$ super quick.

great video again scott. I really the idea of a cordless mic and cordless bass set up, all in one system. I also like that you mentioned this is your 'go to' system in regards to being reliable, especially if you start adding other wireless equipment on stage. In my opinion, no need to do a complete video on the expensive set up, maybe just a quick blurb of what the difference is and why the extra price, but its a preference thing. Keep up the good work and your videos are always interesting with a no bullshit or sales pitch on anything

Great video Scott! I bought this (B58 combo) after watching and I love it. Just wondering since the SLXD1 tx also uses the SLXD4, can both tx be used simultaneously with a single SLDX4? Guessing no, but hoping you have some Jedi knowledge on this.

I tried the SLXD14 for guitar. Solid build, easy set up, no latency but have some issues with guitar tone in my IEM mix and FOH. I use a Helix with a band that goes direct to a Behringer XR18, use a Shure PSM300 for my IEM. The gain setting between the transmitter and receiver default was at max so signal was clipping, adjusted all the way down to get to a similar level as a cable.
The next issue was how thin and brittle the sound was. A/B between cable and wireless and the tone difference was obvious in the IEM and FOH sound, not so obvious going direct to a real guitar amp. Adjusted gain on the SLXD4 as low as I could, tried the high pass, Pad/Boost setting and even between Mic/Line level settings. Not happy with added brightness in tone and would hate to adjust eq on all presets I have been using live. Prefer the cable sound.

Excellent video! Apologies if it's in there and I missed it but I notice there's 3 different frequency ranges these are offered in. How do you choose what range to purchase?

I bought GLXD24+, didn’t know SLXD is more professional 🙂 took it bcs of the battery and lightweight tabletop version.
The price in Europe is the same as SLXD..
Hope my GLXD24+ will work good (have the same quality sound while singing). 🎉

hey scott, I'm not sure if I missed it or not, but have you done a video on what you feel is best way and best product to have your lyrics and/or chords, in front of you while playing ?? especially when your doing so many different ventures/genres as you do. I realize you use cordless ear prompts as well.

Hello, how are you? I have a serious question. Could you tell me which microphones you would use for the receiver? Which microphones are compatible with the Shure ULXS4 Wireless Microphone? I wouldn't mind the brand of the microphone. They could be Chinese. I don't care. I just need to make sure it is a specific model. What functions with this receiver, well I have it but it does not have microphones, thanks in advance

Would this be the best suited system for small bars and medium night clubs? I’m getting either this or the qlx-d

Do you recommend the SLX over the GLX-D+ systems? I currently use two original GLX-D units, and while it worked great for years I now get dropouts no matter what channel (overcrowded 2.4?). I was considering two GLX-D+ units, but this seems more robust for not whole lot more..

I have the Shure SLX-D DUAL wireless system and I can't get both mics to sync at the same time. When I sync mic 1, it works great. But when I then sync mic 2, it seems to be deleting all the information from mic 1. End result, I can only use one of the two mics that came with this system. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey Scott! I bought this system because of the your review and I’m happy. Thank you so much! I wanted to ask if you know. Can I use a ksm9 or ksm11 on slxd transmitter? Or not? Thank you!
