Perfect. After several days of reading and listening I'm going to replace the Custom Shop Nocasters in my '52 Reissue with this exact combination. Also putting black Ernie Ball round-top metal knobs on the control plate for just a touch more attitude. Have barely played that guitar since I got my '63 double-cut Danocaster five years ago. This should revive my interest, THANKS!

Love the sound of your guitar Birdsnake! I used the Jerry Donahue and a Seth Lover wired for splitting in my telecaster. I think those two pick-ups go great together as well. I think the 59' would sound a little better in the full humbucker neck position, but I just totally love the combination sound with the bridge and the split neck Seth Lover. It is lush. The Jerry Donahue pickup is fabulous. It isn't at all shrill, yet has the twang.

If the 59 is too boomy at all, swapping an unoriented Alnico 5 magnet in takes care of that and gives an even more soft and vintagey tone.

Hey man, I know this video is old but if you get this I wanted to ask you a question. I currently have a Jerry Donahue/Seth Lover combo and that works pretty well. I've thought about trying the 59 instead of the Seth Lover but I'm worried about pickup balance. How does the JD compare to the 59 in volume? I've heard the 59 can be really bloomy in the neck. Do you have an issues with that at all? Thanks in advance.

How many resistor value you use to volume pot to balance it?
I have HS balance issue, the humb pu seems more dominant and louder than the single coil.
I have quarter pound on bridge, and 59' on neck. Using 500k on both tone and volume pot.
Any ideas?

What are your pot values? I aquired a baja that was routed for a humbucker in the neck but it has a Burstbucker 1 in the neck. The bass strings are too muddy. Im hoping to find a good humbucker with crisp bass response with traditional 250k pots...

I had a Jerry Donahue in the bridge with a Seth Lover in the neck. The JD was way too weak and it was hard to balance. How is the volume balance on yours?
