“You could imagine what the world would’ve been like if they won.” Gave me chills. God bless this hero for fighting for us & for explaining his story, but also for explaining her grandfather‘s story.

Wow she got to meet a real hero on the same beach he came ashore in world war 2.. she has no idea how fortunate she is.

Her grandfather got really lucky. My own grandfather was captured in Latvia by the Red Army at the end of the war, sentenced to death for being a collaborator (because he could speak Russian and was born in Riga in 1901), but not executed but treated as a PoW (as he should have been from the beginning) and was among the last to return to Germany in 1955.

That was not D-Day. D-Day took place in Normandy, this is "operation Dragoon", beginning the 15th of August, 1944, landing in the south of France, french riviera. And the beach´s name is "plage du Dramont".

Nothing at all to do with D-Day, it's Operation Dragoon

D-Day was June 6th 1944.. This was most likely Operation Dragoon (Anvil). It was initially planned to be simultaneous with Operation Overlord but there were not enough soldiers for both.

I spent part of my teens in oskaloosa iowa. About 3 hours from Algona. My husband and I are coming to oskaloosa for a family wedding. We are going to need to make a side trip visit to the museum.

I have seen the items in algona. The nativity some of the soldiers made during their captivity is amazing.

Chelsea Handlers grandfather was a Brown shirt. But he was one of the “good” brown shirts. 😅

What a hero! Such a shame that so many people seem to have forgotten the sacrifice they made for our tomorrow… especially as fascism and far-right extremism seem to be on the rise again all over the world 😢

Raise your hand if you want to hear an elitist, woke Chelsea Handler talk about the war….Nobody raises their hands. Chelsea needs to stick to things she knows something about. Chelsea is well versed on things like virtue signaling, America bashing, social justice causes, and brunch with the girls. If Chelsea was recommending which swanky restaurants are good in Bel Air I would trust her without reservations. Otherwise, to quote the Rap group Public Enemy, Chelsea’s opinion “never meant S*** to me”.
