Phil Mickelson shoots 6-under 64 | Round 1 | Travelers Championship 2020

In the opening round of the 2020 Travelers Championship, Phil Mickelson carded a 6-under 64, placing him four strokes off the lead heading into Friday.


The Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands is the first event on the revised PGA TOUR schedule that will take place in its original spot on the calendar. The longtime TOUR event will feature a stellar field that includes 4 of the top 5 golfers in the world - Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson - as well as defending champion Chez Reavie. Also challenging for top spot will be recent Travelers champions Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Russell Knox, Kevin Streelman, and Marc Leishman.

Love watching Phil! Why aren’t more analysts talking about Phil losing weight and working hard at age 50 to stay competitive on the PGA tour? All they talk about is DeChambau gaining weight and his experiment being so exciting. Give me a break. Phil is still the most entertaining guy to watch.

Hope Phil can somehow be in contention at the US Open this year. Great to see him get in. That may have put a little extra jump in his step today. If Phil somehow WON the Open, omg that would be the GREATEST. I think I would not just cry but start balling tears of joy 😭. I was VERY emotional with his first major on '04. Hopefully he keeps it going like today 😉. Phil's my favorite player EVER 👍
