World powers are in a race for the next #ManhattanProject. This time, instead of an atomic bomb, the atoms make up a #QuantumComputer.

In this special report, we look at China’s goal to be the first to get their hands on the ultimate #CyberWeapon, how China stacks up against the United States in terms of this race, and how Americans’ personal information is at the heart of it all.

I have worked as an advanced cybersecurity professional in my own IT support company for several decades and the general complacency of the average American citizen never ceases to amaze me.

*More people should be aware of, "The China Show", *

The gentlemen who host that weekly podcast, Matthew Tye & Winston Sterzel, are truly doing the Lord's work.

They used to live in The People's  Republic of China for over a decade, teaching english and adventuring on motorcycle around the country; filming documentaries. Until they were forced to flee, and became open advocates against CCP-PLA criminality; using an ever-growing, international community.

If you want extremely in-depth academic information regarding CCP-PLA activity; then I highly encourage using these useful resources which have extensive reports: Atlantic Council, Hudson Institute, CNAS, CSIS, Cato Institute, Human Rights Watch, & Amnesty International.

More computing power than all the hard drives in the world? Hard drives are data storage, not processing. What am I missing here?

We need to have a much greater sense of urgency about the threat posed by Chinese communist party.

Daily Reminder! Taiwan (Republic of China) is its own sovereign nation with its own culture, military, civil government, trade relations, diplomatic relations, flag, and institutions! This also applies to Ukraine. Slava Ukraini and down with authoritarianism! 🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼♥️🇺🇸♥️🇷🇺

Good episode, informative and younger generation needs to become more aware.

Pretty sure we can slow them down quite a bit by completely stopping all sales and trades of computing chips toward China.

There are three projects as a result of India's US$1.2 billion investment in quantum technology development as part of its National Mission on Quantum Technologies & Applications (NM-QTA), which was launched in 2020.

Hard drives do not compute. Not sure I trust this guy.

The real competition is on the energy layer, and IMHO it's more about nuclear fusion, then quantum computing.

If yall would go back the ass whooping phase we wouldn't have this problem. Keep phones away from children.

2:20 Yeah, I guess my watch has more computing power than a 100 harddrives. Hard drive stores data. Either he's misspoke or he doesn't understand how quantum vs normal computer works. Don't get me wrong. It's still catastrophic, but he does a bad job talking about it.

Quantum computer can "explore" multiple ways of computing thing at once. That means you trade time or try to complexity. It is suitable for solving a problem you have to try a lot of times to get through, but not good for something you know how to solve. This is why it's good for encryption cracking. That's why it doesn't make sense to compare qubit count to traditional processing power of classical computer. It's like saying this new car has more horse power than all all the wheels of these cars combine.

One more thing about this is quantum computer is not the end for cracking encryption. We still need quantum programming to do that. I think the last time I see a study on it, it'd take thousands of qubits to crack something like normal RSA and that was optimized estimate. If programming doesn't work quite as expected, it'd take more.

All in all, I agree with the message. I share the concern, but boi you need to have someone who knows what he's talking about as a spoke person.
