Primetime. Neon Deion. The Hype, the athleticism, the biggest moments, and the controversial, brash style that came with it all. Sanders played for multiple teams in his 14-year career and is regarded as one of the greatest professional and collegiate football players of all time. But just how good was Deion Sanders actually?

My pops told me when he went to go see his frat brothers run a track meet at FSU that Prime had a baseball game a field over. He said he saw him jump the gate check in for relay in FULL baseball uniform and blew those guys out the water. Then he hopped back over the gate and hit a HR an inning or 2 later. My dad still talks about that and how amazed everybody was because he did it so effortlessly.

Hitting a home run in the MLB and scoring a touchdown in the NFL in 24hours is hands down the most badass thing ever done in sports. It will never happen again.

We’ll probably never see another athlete like Prime because of the AAU style sports where kids play a single sport nearly year round... in years past, guys played every sport they could.. he’s definitely 1 of a kind

Watching Deon run the bases in person was amazing. When he hit a triple he never rounded the bases, he made sharp cuts like he was running a pass pattern in football. He easily turned what for most would be a double into a triple. A unique once-in-a-century athletic talent.

One of the most unique players to ever play in the NFL. He had a unique stance, very low to the ground, from which he could rotate and burst in any direction. He could cover anywhere on his half of the field. So no one threw to his side because he could always get there before the ball did. He nearly eliminated the passing offense on HALF the field. Phenomenal hands too. Not a trash talker either. Wide receivers would report that he would actually give them tips during the game. That's confidence. Never be another.

His baseball career was highly underrated. Man was lethal as an outfielder and base stealing. I’m honored to have watched him live.

Deion was one of the very few who was able to cover Jerry Rice. Jerry ran routes like no other. The two of them playing against each other was a ballgame by itself!

THEY RECONSTRUCTED HIS CONTRACT SO HE COULD PLAY BOTH POST SEASONS IN FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL SHOWS U HOW DOPE OF AN ATHLETE HE WAS! TO HIT A HOME RUN AND THEN GO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN WITHIN A DAY IS LEGENDARY! PRIME TIME IS THE GOAT... BEEN THE GOAT SINCE FSU

Hands down one of the most talented athletes of the 20th century. I remember watching Primetime as a kid and wishing to be just like him. Dion has been a TRUE winner his entire life

Prime always talked a big deal and lived up to the hype. Freakish athlete, studied his butt off and had amazing work ethic. One of a kind. Rare breed.

It’s amazing how you don’t get enough time to react to one of his amazing accolades/achievements before your told another one. Absolute one of a kind freak athlete.

The thing that is surprising is what a great teammate he was. From all I have read he would come into a locker room to a new team and guys would be skeptical of his attitude. In no time he won everyone over and made the team better not only from his play on the field. The most amazing player I ever watched.

Had a chance to see Deion hit a home run against the Rockies. It was the Rockies first year and they were playing in Mile High Stadium. He hit a ball that rolled all the way to the wall right in front of where we were sitting in the "Rock Pile" ($1 seats in the outfield)
When the ball hit the wall, I looked up and Prime was already almost to 3rd base. Crazy fast, inside-the-park home run.... standing up. Never forget it.

What a pleasure to grow up in the 90s to watch Jordan, Deion and Ronaldo (Brazil).

The fact that somebody who is that unique can be a successful coach and lead men with only a fraction of the talent that he had is even more incredible

A man who could talk the talk and walk the walk. It was a joy to have him help my Niners win a SB. GBU Deion.
