Polynomial Functions and Power Functions

In this video I introduce the concept of a polynomial function and a power function, and outline some of the parts of their equations.

quick question, can a function be both a power function and a polynomial funtion at the same time?

Every text book introduces polynomial function first and then the power function. This confuses students. If only they introduce power function first and then introduce polynomial function as a sum of terms, each of which consists of a transformed power function with positive whole number power, the relation between power function and polynomial function will be cemented in students' minds.
