Paying It Back: Surprising Bonnie Eggett The 38th Recipient of a $1000 Gift.

I love surprises and wow did we ever surprise Bonnie Eggett. Ruth and I stopped by to see Bonnie and her family in London, Ontario. Bonnie is the 38th recipient of my bucket list goal of $1,000 gift to 50 families.
She is an amazing woman and one of the few people I have met who has gone through so much and yet remains so strong. As soon as you walk into her home you can sense the tremendous love that Bonnie and Jeff have for each other. They have been together for more than 28 years and last year were married at the hospital chapel.
Bonnie’s husband Jeff age 59, was a demolition worker for more than 30 years, however for the past few years he has been battling cancer. The doctors at Victoria Hospital say they have done everything they can and he has little time left. So Jeff has gone home and is receiving palliative care.
Bonnie and Jeff are also raising two of their grandsons, Aiden 8 and Dominic 4. Jeff’s illness has been extremely stressful emotionally, physically and financially for the entire family.
Bonnie is trying to raise money for a used van with wheelchair capabilities so she can fulfill Jeff’s desire to go outside while he is able. Although Bonnie and her family are still praying for a miracle for Jeff, they will likely have to face and pay for funeral/wake arrangements in the near future. Jeff does not have any insurance to cover the cost.
Bonnie’s sister Marjorie has set up a GoFundMe site for those who wish to help them. I want to thank Mike Croza and the Supply Chain Alliance Group for helping me help the Eggett family. I also want to thank Tonii Eggett for helping us surprise her mother Bonne.
