How to Add, Edit and Delete Contacts in Gmail (Google) | Manage Your Contacts in Gmail

In this video, we will show you how to add, edit and delete Google Contacts.

Google Contacts allows you to organize the contacts in your Google Account. You can use this feature to create personal mailing lists or quickly send messages to groups etc.

Let’s say you want to manage and organize all the contacts in your Google Account. For that, we will be moving into the Contacts feature of your Google account. Let’s get started.

Let’s open up the Google apps menu and click on the Contacts option. This will redirect you to the Google Contacts page.

From here, you can add a new contact by clicking on the “Create Contact” option. From the menu, let’s click on the “create a contact” option since we will be adding a single contact to our Google account.

This will open up the pop up window where you would be required to fill in the details and contact information, such as Name company, mobile number etc. If you want to add additional information, click on the More fields option.

From here, you can add more information such as a nickname or their mailing address and even birthdays.

Lastly, you can even add a new label and tag it to this specific contact by clicking over here, and typing in the new label. If you have already created a label previously, it would be showing as an option here.

Once done, simply click on Save and the contact will be created.

To edit, simply click on the contact appearing in the list here. Once the popup window opens, click on the Edit icon on the top right corner. Now you can change the existing information added previously or add more information about your contact. Once done, click on Save and the contact would be updated.

It’s important to note that you can't change details that automatically come from your contact's Google profile, a contact’s organization or Google Maps, if your contact is a business.

To delete a contact, hover over the specific contact from the list and open up the actions menu. From here, click on the Delete option. A popup window will open up confirming whether you want to delete the contact or not.

Simply click on Delete and the contact would be deleted.

I don't understand how going to the Google Contacts page in a new tab would be considered "Adding, Editing and Deleting Contacts *IN* Gmail. I'm looking for a browser extension that will allow me to add. edit or delete (all fields - including labels) in a Google Contact INSIDE Gmail (on the right sidebar).

I want to be able to edit the google contact so when i export into an excel spread sheet, only the fields I want come across. There are alot of columns that come across into the excel spread sheet that I dont want. I deleted a contact address but can't seem to delete it from the autofill function. So if I type in a contact's name, the autofill will route the mail to the deleted address by default. How do I delete an obsolete address completely so that autofill won't retain it?

When you open an individual contact how do you change how it is displayed for instance the letter of the person's first name is huge taking up so much space and Below where you can scroll and look at their name and address and stuff is so small I want that window to be bigger

Ok, I'll try! I went to my Gmail and made a draft letter. I went back the next day to add and edit my draft. It would not let me edit my letter from the draft gmail. OK, genius... lol

How do you delete eamils in Gmail that are NOT in the contacts list? I have not found a way after much wasted time. The name does not come up in search anywhere but still comes up in autofill.

I usually export my data from excel to Google contacts, The contacts structure has a blank space call name then first name, etc, once exported, I cannot edit Name ( I need to form name with additional info ) However first name and the others i can edit, how I should access Name (beside the picture)

i feel like i need a degree to manage my contacts.
i have a work email that i need to use regularly.
1. the one i no longer want to use is not in my contacts but keeps turning up in the email line.
i tried to create a brand new contact - nope - didnt work.
2. the email address that has i inadvertently made an error is not in my contacts but keeps turning up along with number 1.
it seems unfixable - i will have to go to the samsung store!
