I used to work full time as a Sr. Front End Web Developer (I quit this job), & part-time as an adjunct professor teaching web development at a local university (I kept this job — I like teaching!). Both of my day jobs were awesome! I was wondering when you would touch on this. I've been using various AI art generators to create products for my shop. If you search for 'AI art upscale' you'll find a lot of options for upscaling at little or no cost. Some of the AIs are good at also creating mockup images.

I tried this but found that you had to generate many images before getting something usable. Also many of mine were blurred out, which I don't understand.

I used Creative Spark this past Sunday, as thales also sent me an email. I tested it, and wasn't wowed, but I'm sure with some tweaking it could deliver some great graphics

I do not mind AI depending on how it is used.

But when people start using AI to generate images then they go around saying that they are an artist that part really ticks me off. I spent a better part of almost 20 years in the work force doing real design work and 5 and 1/2 years in college becoming a professional artist.

Then average people use ai and they can claim that they're an artist by doing next to nothing.

This sort of mentality will completely ruin industry if it hasn't already.

All simply for the sake of greed and money.

I've used some ai art for my kids Halloween colouring book. got an image from ai, (pug in a pumpkin), selected shadows in Photoshop for the outline and duplicated the selection, this allowed the outline to be on a separate layer to the colour (which got deleted) duplicated and shifted to thicken the line. had to clean some lines and draw some manually but I think I got it looking ok. I used dall e. I heard midjourney is good for b&w colouring books, so will try that next. only just started looking into kdp and pod seriously this month.

It's fun and I have used it quite a bit but just for laughs. Most of the time the "art" created by any AI isn't that great. So many artists seem to be threatened by this but they really don't have to be. Also I have an issue with the idea that the images are compiled by stealing other people's images and piecing them together like Frankenstein's monster. Thanks for sharing. :) - Heidi
