JOAN ARMATRADING (I Love It When You) Call Me Names

The opening track and second single from Joan Armatrading's 8th LP 'The Key', 'Call Me Names' may not have afforded the British singer a hit in her homeland, but here in Australia we loved her, and propelled the rockin' number into our Top 20. The version I have uploaded here in the longer album version, with an extra verse. It simply kicks ass and was a great companion piece in 1983 to her bigger hit 'Drop The Pilot' which is also on my channel. Joan is a most versatile musician and singer; equally comfortable and skilled with both sensitive mid tempo ballads, or the rockier outings like this one. 'The Key' was our 7th best selling long player of 1983 and 'Drop The Pilot' was the 27th highest selling single. Joan has toured downunder many times and is still played on radio after all these decades.

I would only call her one name - BRILLIANT! :)
