i've seen everything on youtube and still no working!! when I delete the files it creates automatically without turning on the servers!!! Pleasee Help meee

If it helps, i've found recently a better solution. Maybe you found it too but i write it here for others to see it too.
It does not delete any data. I have all my databases intact.

*Problem:*
mysql won't start with MAMP 4.1 (apache is starting)
*Solution:*
Just delete the file
mysql-bin.index
from:
C:\MAMP\db\mysql\

And it will work again.
Until now i had to do it only 2 times in last 10 times that i started MAMP. So it is safer.

It's pretty easy to keep your data. Just delete the logfiles but keep the data file and you'll be fine!

It not work for me to just delete this 3 file.
But after that I delete all the non-folder text file (around 10 file) inside that folder, then it work.

Hi, hoping desperately if you could help me please. I have deleted the ib_logfile1, ib_logfile & ibdata1 file (inside mysql56) as you mentioned. It has enabled Mamp to start up again, however, it’s not letting me access my site. It’s asking me to install WordPress like I haven’t started it! Can you help please? My site was 95% finished. I can’t afford to lose it 😢 I would much appreciate your expertise 👍🏼

Hey everyone... Joe´s video helped me to get the mysql-server running again BUT i didn´t expected to loose the all the data (or just loose the path / settings to my old database)?!
MY QUESTION:
We forced mamp to create a new log-in by deleting ib_logfile1-2-0... so why i have to set up the whole page, again?
(After deleting the log data and tryn to start my page again i´m being asked to install WP?)

Can´t i just change some setting´s to get right back to my old database?

I have absolutely no clue so PLEASE help!

Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial. This is just what I was looking when I encountered this exact problem while learning Wordpress and PHP. Like he said, it's not perfect since you are losing data, but it's a simple way to fix a common issue.

If you're a developer, there's no such phrase as "local files don't matter." Often, that is your only copy of something that has not gone live yet. You can figure out the rest by reading the posts here...
