Great tutorial! Thank you. Also, your english is superb. Way better than my French! Just a hint though, to pronounce 'height map', think of the word 'light' or 'fight' and pronounce it in a similar way. As if it were spelled 'hite map'.

Use a displacer effector child to a plane. When you have the plane displaced, increase the plane segments to 1000 to get full effect. When doen, right click on the plane, then click on "current state to object". This will help you with the scattering in Octane without using a height map for the position.

Stupid question but how do you get the height/displacement in C4D to match the height from World Creator 2? Ie. why use the number 250m? Do you just input a number and try to get something that looks similar or is there an accurate way? Keep up the amazing stuff (I know this is from 2 years ago but still amazing!)

Hey great tutorial, but there is one major issue that you didn't seem to notice : your materials don't have displacement because Octane Mix Materials only activates displacement from the displacement channel, not from the PBR materials within it. So at 24:45, you didn't notice but there is no displacement at all. Just the diffuse. I've been trying to overcome this problem but it's very complicated. Do you have any solution ? :)

ya moyen d"en avoir une ou faut direct acheter le soft ? si c'est le cas franchement ils abusent
