This path could make sense but I think it shouldn't have a level cap increase. Plenty of old unused zones and ideas that they could just develop and use as a patch.

it's alternative timeline when kael'thas remind loyal to ilidan and the dark portal never open and ilidan ruled outland and defeat the legion with big fel hord, while we have fun with azeorth only sound cool to me

I want this classic+ to be real but ideally they would relaunch and do classic vanilla again before just dropping the expansion. Also have those new races in from the start.

I would love if they actually chose a "what if" scenario and redesigned the world around it, like adding zones that we might have already seen but with a different story focus.

The classic andys would get way too mad if they added new races, classes or changed the level cap, and actually I think it would be a lot better for the future if 60 remained the level cap and the gear offered horizontal progression

Increased level cap would annihilate the endgame of classic so that can't happen.

The idea that both Classic+ and Cata Classic would go ahead is the least likely proposition imo. Also, I don't buy the heavy reuse of assets from tbc/wrath/cata as a pointer because cata's whole deal was to replace those old assets with higher definition ones so the idea clashes with itself and it's still possible to make low poly assets with modern tech. There are so so so many retro indies and games like OSRS that prove current day designers are able to do something extremely good looking with limited graphical capabilities.

Most people don't want a change to levels. If Classic+ exist, imho they should absolutely just have new leveling zones, new dungeons, new raids, but no additional level increases and loss of armor and weapons.

1) I will play "Classic+" if they do it right. But if they are even thinking of adding level boost and especially wow token, *HARD* pass! Maybe that's why they charge 50 bucks, hence no token?
2) For the love of God if they add High Elves (BEs) please update the bow animation to newer one. Was a big welcomed change later on. Old animation is aweful. A simple toggle would work.
3) Scarlet Monastery raid. Considering how popular SM dungeons have always been. Fill the empty and unfinished areas with content. Many places on the world map to add more.
4) If they will add housing which was a plan for Vanilla back in the days, don't make it like in WoD. Last thing we need is "empty" servers where people sit in their houses and "farm/craft" all day.

They've added Blood Elves to the Horde in BC specifically so that they can have a fancy-looking race (to balance the population). Now they are gonna add ogres instead and move the elves to the Alliance side? Look like the leak was using a free version of ChatGPT.

They're an orc unit in warcraft 2.

note on the emerald dream - in dragonflight we are going into the eye of Yesra I believe. While the unfinished vanilla zones I dont think have any name( can be wrong ) so I think there is some merit to cleaning those up and releasing them.

I dont like the level cap increase... the new zones could just be slightly more challenging than oroginal zones with quest chains that maybe reward you with items roughly the power of lvl 60 dungeons or so

It's strange how the leak comes out a day after Metzen's return is confirmed... yeah, highly doubt this. If there was a Classic+, it would pick off where WotLK stopped, not Vanilla.

I have seen more believable April Fools patch notes. Metzen will be working on retail. patches for classic are just seasons. Blizzard will not do 2 different versions of the Dmerald Dream. High elves will never be a thing outside of skin color options, and ogres won't be added to classic because blizzard would never spend the resources to fix armor models for every item in the game for them. and finally, the logo is super fake looking. it's just the basic wow classic logo with text below it, a new logo would have a new color palette and the text would be incorporated somehow, not just obviously photoshopped below it.
