Antony remembered they had 17 years of history to cover, and less than 10 episodes left.

And he did it so casually like “oh by the way, I forgot to buy some milk”. 😂😂😂

James Purefoy has one of the best coldest scowls ever.

I was JUST LOOKING FOR THIS what the hell?? Nice.

I love this scene, just how casually ruthless Mark Antony is.

James Purefoy stole every scene he was in, he was born for the role of Mark Antony !!

Rome tv show was unfair with the sons of Pompey. Gnaeus was the last man that openly confronted Caesar, defeated in the last big battle of the civil war in Spain. And Sextus was the last man that openly confronted Octavian & Antony during the second triunvirate, being a menace in the west mediterranian with his fleet and ruling over the islands.

Instead, this Quintus (fictional character) is just a poor thug.

The episode of Rome that starts with Antony fleeing in defeat is AMAZING:
The entire series famously avoided large battle scenes for financial reasons, but thank god for it because the actors cast were just spectacular in their rolls - all of them without exception, start to (unfortunately premature) finish! The political and personal focus - not just of leaders and soldiers but also regular Roman citizens and slaves and their routine way of life - is so rarely something that gets explored in any depth in favor of battles. Because, obviously it's easier to get funding for a big war film, a fact made so poetically ironic given the Roman peoples OWN notorious love of bloody spectacal themselves! Even just the intro totle sequence for the show, with its world rich with gaudy colors and amusingly obscene graffiti, was far more accurate than anything else that came before!
😅

Thanks for upload though is there anywhere with the whole preceding negotiation between Antony and Brutus/Servilia?

Wish they utilized his historical character more, then again the show was cancelled so maybe it worked out

Didn't Quintus die near Sicily as a pirate who occupied the island and hel Rome hostage with famine?
That's kinda even more humiliating death to be born in Patrician and being incomeptant and acting like a thug to be reduced to a lowly pirate.

But Julius Caesar, stabbed by a number of people, died slowly, from blood loss -- under prolonged agony!!

Why did he? Was a murder so easy at that time, or was he included in the proscription?

This did not happen to Quintus Celer, the roman proconsul of Gaul in 62 BC
