Jawharp is my national instrument and I can give you some tips. Much more can be made if you include tongue and throat movements, as well as diaphragmatic breathing. Melodies you can make up are countless, experiment

I have literally wanted to learn how to play one of these my entire life. I’m 56, and thanks to you I just played the one I was given as a little girl by a friend of my parents when I was 5…but have never found anyone willing to show me how to play it. The family friend who gave it to me passed before he could teach me. I was too young to realize at the time that he was in his final days due to cancer, but he loved to have me stop by every day to play for him whatever instrument I was interested in at the time.

I was blessed/cursed with perfect pitch and an ear for music. I played every instrument in my school’s band class…unfortunately, I couldn’t and still can’t read music; but all I need is to hear it once and I can play it (I’m neurodivergent & music has always been my escape/way to calm and centre myself).
