How to Upgrade Junos OS

Показать описание
In this video, Knox Hutchinson covers upgrading the Junos operating system on your Juniper device. Even if you don't have them on the most recent release, it's important that your Juniper devices all run on the same Junos build. In this video, Knox explains:
Checking the version your device is currently operating on
Comparing the build number to Juniper's available builds
The steps for downloading and installing the image directly to the device via url
What to do if your device is so old that it doesn't support TLS or you don't want to directly install the update
Compare build numbers to see if you want to upgrade your device. You can then download the .tgz file and install it locally via flash drive, or you can download the image directly to your device via url.
To do that, check that your device can actually access the internet, then make sure your DNS settings are correct. With that, you can instruct the device on where to find the new OS image and where to load it.
You might run into problems — like Knox does — if your device doesn't support TLS. Old Juniper devices will revert to grabbing data from sites using straight SSL, but new websites won't support it. The workaround is local installation.
