I feel the same, and I’m glad that she’s sticking with her gut. There is no way I can watch this, out of respect of Cameron and the original cast not being there.

This is a good way to continue the franchise without replacing Cameron and the rest of the OGs. Changing the whole main cast and storyline and focus on other characters was the way to go. Bringing back brandy as Cinderella and her Prince now King I love it.

I'm a big fan of descendants and I didn't think I will be able to watch this new movie but something that fans (including myself) need to realize that there are other characters in The descendants universe I will forever Miss Mal Evie Jay and Carlos. But as Mal said in the Royal Wedding Episode "The story may have ended for us, but somewhere else there's a new story beginning". It's not going to be easy watching the movie, but something tells me they won't disappoint.

Honestly I get what people mean about tCameron.
Honestly, I’m really thrilled about the new movie in the franchise. I’d given up hope after the royal wedding 2 years ago. Then last year, a small part of me hoped that something would be announces because something new has come out every 2 years so far since 2015, but I’d just given up hope fully when D4 was announced!
I’ve loved Descendants since I was 9, when the second movie came out, and I never stopped loving it even as I got into my teenage years. It’s just such a great moral story with Disney characters added.
I would’ve liked it if the original characters could’ve returned even for just a few minutes, but I understand them finding it too hard. I mean, if they did a new movie with them all starring it would’ve felt wrong - I get that. Instead of the Core 4, it would just be M, E & Jay.
But I’m really excited to see a new generation of characters and new plot line that revolves around them. I mean, they didn’t show EVERY child of a Disney character. There are so many others that could be explored, which is what they’re doing. Ever since D3, I’ve read so many fanfics about OCs of children of Disney characters never seen in the franchise, and now Disney is actually doing that finally - adding more stories to the Descendants world!
I really hope it’s not a let-down like you sometimes get in franchises. I have high hope for this movie! I think it could be really great to explore other characters stories.
But I’m also SO excited to see Uma again as well. Uma got her happy ending, but at the same time there are lots of people who would like to see her in Auradon adjusted to that.

I think that the movie will be healing to watch and a fresh beginning.Yes I understand the pain that they are going though but that shouldn't stop the new cast from doing it.

I don't want to upset everyone, but I feel that even thought Cameron won't be there on the show, his spirit is still watching. You see his body may have died, but his spirit still lives on. Maybe they can do something in the film, like saying that Cameron's character disappeared, when they were crossing over the bridge. I know that's sad, but Cameron would want the show to keep going. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits!

I understand she misses cam but if cam where here he would say to go ahead with the movie knowing how much he loved descendants. We could take it has healing process plus we can't just end descendants just like that

I agree with dove. First of all she is one of my favorite actors and I’ll always support her. At first when i heard “there’s a descendents 4” i was like YAY! Manily bc i thought most of the main cast was going to be there, besides Carmen, and maybe l2 more ppl. But as i get more info i feel like they are changing the entire story line! I also feel guilty i didn’t show respect to carmen Boyce. However, i do understand that the movie is called DESENDENTS, so it should probely get passed on to DESNDENTS, but you get point.

Personally, I'm 50/50. I think Disney did a very good job at staying true about his death. They honored him in animated shorts about the series and in the 4th movie. They made his death a canon point in the series and never tried to hide it and make it feel like he was still alive and thriving in the Descendants universe. I did watch the 4th Descendants movie today and after seeing it, I think what the 4th movie is doing is a good turn, as I don't think continuing the series with the rest of the main cast without Cameron would be fair.

Without spoiling, the 4th movie is about other characters and other kingdoms completely unrelated to the first 3 movies. The new main characters who have never been in a Descendants movie before go back in time to change the present and it's completely stand alone from the other Descendants movies. It's almost like a Descendants spin off rather than a continuous 4th movie. I don't think it would be fair to continue the Descendants franchise with the original VKs, as they cannot truly be the VKs without Carlos as Cameron Boyce so I'm understanding and appreciative with the decision of the original cast but I'm also quite happy with the new direction Descendants has gone.

I hope the original cast can continue to heal and eventually come to terms with it, as I would hate for the franchise that brought them all together and made them a family to bring them any resentment.

They knew about it they never spoke bad about it they haven’t even really talked about it

They honored him they gave all the fans and cast and crew closure

Now it’s time to meet some new characters who haven’t had their stories told yet that deserve to



It’s a huge world with thousands of stories waiting to be told

Why limit themselves

There is more to that world then them 99% of the world is unexplored and I want all of it explored

I wanna see descendants movies set in Olympus and neverland and arendelle etc
There is so much creative potential there

They can do a new story and still call it d4 think about it like the mcu

D1-the wedding was phase 1

D4 is the beginning of phase 2.

I do sort of agree with Dove and the rest of the cast that wouldn't be in the new movie, it would seem wrong and not the same without Cameron Boyce, but if he was still here... Do you think that he would've wanted to make another movie?? They could just say or make the movie in memory of him even though that it would be heartbreaking. Me and my younger sister were huge fans of the Descendants franchise and were so heartbroken when we heard the news of Cameron's passing. We cried for days, but I think that a new movie would be a good idea, especially with new characters and new storyline. I do agree with the OG cast, but i also still think that Cameron Boyce would've wanted them to make another movie in memory of him

I also feel like making a new movie is not right. I thought descendants 3 was the end of the story. If they introduce new characters, then it wouldn't look like descendants anymore it would look like a whole new franchise. So I'm with Dove.

I don't blame her.. Cameron was her best friend they both were so close And it's sad how she lost a person that she loved so much :(
