We loved this project so much that we featured it in this weeks episode of The Electromaker Show!

I had a project that I wanted to turn into an IC, and I was so confused trying to figure out any information whatsoever before I came to this oasis of a video. You explained the suffixes of the ATMEGAS, showed your preference of programmer, etc. I had been searching for the last week for a crumb of information and to see it perfectly displayed in one github repo I really can't thank you enough.

Great tutorial! Very compact and to-the-point. And I like the programmer adapter you made

Thanks for the video, my robotics professor Mr. Pruitt recommended an Atmel microcontroller for a submersible GPS dolphin that runs a lap underwater, I want the engine to be like a series of fans that push water through the core of robo sub and add water through a sine wave generator to propel the dolphin and robotic submarine.

I think it's a great video. Cannot believe the work you have gone to in order to help us out on this. I just now ordered my Atmel-ice. I need to trace thru some code that I just cannot understand. Maybe after watching your bitpickin' video, I can understand the code. It concerns fonts and bitmaps. And we are down to the bit level with this.

Awessome tutorials Chris. I also recommend to use original Atmel programmers rather than clones, I wasted many hours with drivers, etc..

I follow the steps of the tutorial. After uploaded the first patch of code, i found i could not get the Chip's ID on Atmel Studio 7 again when I want to program the 2nd time on the same chip. I have been spoiled 5 pieces of Atmega328p Chips. kindly advice!

If you cant put parts on a breadboard, maybe not ready to program micro's yet?

are they still pushing the avr dragon or is that old news, and these new ice programmers are replacing it?

Unable to load the compiled program to the 328P, after a successful build.
I completed the device programing step, the led does not flash, the screen indicated
"Ready " on the lower left side of the display screen. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Knoiwing something is one thing and to tell what you know is another thing.

Thanks Chris for this informative video. I just found your channel, and I’m interested in doing this, but since you made this the ATMEL ICE Basic has more than tripled in price! Is there now a lower-cost programmer option that you can recommend that would work with your tutorials?
