Bro the whole point of samovar is the smoke since you run it on pine cones !!! You can boil the water wherever you want, still this special charm is only produced when you run it on pine cones :)) From Russia with love

The samovar's charm is that it's traditional. If you're gonna use this, might as well just use a regular electric kettle.

I seen this thing which Mom told me was called Samovar stashed away in the pantry in a cupboard when I was young. Not knowing what it was for did not stop me from admiring it. I never knew what it was for as Mom never used it when Dad got it because of nostalgia I guess. And by the time I learned its purpose I discovered it was sadly gone. Mom’s worst habit.. discarding abandoned items. Living with a dream of one day have my own.. I got lucky and got me one along with a decorative ceramic teapot. I cherished it so much I carried it with me when we climbed our plane heading back home. 🤭 But am I glad? You bet! I like the idea of brewing tea but not any longer than 20 minutes with a teapot of 250 ml and 4 grams loose tea leaves in it for the best taste of a healthy cuppa. Any stronger tea or heavier (packed with tea leaves) and the flavor will turn musty no dilution will fix it. The purpose of Samovar is to keep tea hot Not boil it. Best brewing method .. if only they didn’t make the water tank so big. haha I Know the purpose of it which I do not approve of, diluting the unhealthy concentrated tea for 20+ guests but well… 💁🏻‍♀️
Note: You must drain water but not discard it by the end of day, wipe dry with a clean cloth and leave it exposed to dry out completely. A double boiler is better in my guess but the Samovar.. aside from its pleasant noun the admiration is still there. 🥰
