I mean, sure, the original OTIS black buttons are a lot better, but I actually really don’t mind the red Dewhurst button replacement. The weird thing is, though, I spent almost as much time waiting for the elevator as I did riding it. (Skip to 1:44 for the elevator ride.) I only went between floors 1 & 3 as the ground floor opens right up into the receptionist’s face. (lol not really but yeah) I did get recalled down somehow, though, but thankfully I managed to close the door before the receptionist could react. Look at the sign at 3:10 — apparently the door interlocks do not automatically connect on level 1, which is why I helped to close the door by nudging it, as seen at 2:18. I like that they didn’t replace or modernise this elevator (apart from the buttons), but with a fault like that, I would’ve expected them to! Good on the Post Hotel, then.

This has been done since the opening of the hotel. I tried to re-visit this and failed, and the buttons were still original. I would imagine it was probabaly either a case of knackered parts that were cheaper to replace than to fix, or to meet disability requirements, as the old buttons didn't have braille or light up. I lean towards the former on the basis that the buttons do not appear to have been lowered (unless you're a
