That is more or less the same Setup I'm running here in Germany. I have an 3 phase MPPSolar setup for charging my Model 3 with 11kW. Until now we drove 8000 miles with free solar power :)

Here in UK we are restricted to 3.8kW output from 4kW of panels if you go grid tied and despite our famously dull skys I know my roof solar puts out at least 1.5kW so setting my model S to 5A (= 1.25kW @ the UK standard 240v ) 95% of the car is charged from the sun. OK its only 3 miles an hour but normally 20 miles a day is a usefull top up and since Ive been doing this for 8 years its saving me a lot.
As a bonus our feedback tariff system pays 50% of the total generated back in cash at a reduced rate but still amounts to £900 a year ($1, 000)
Your stand alone system is tempting me to build similar for the future what a great channel.

Interesting.. I'd like to see a spreadsheet of all of the components, their individual costs & a total cost for everything (e.g. panels, cabling, power combiner, charge controller, battery bank components, inverter, cabling, etc.)

I want to publicly thank you for your channel. I completed my first system 10 days ago and had the chance to field test my cargo trailer conversion. The system worked great. I was able to use a microwave and run a fridge 24/7. It is only a 2.8Kw system but it gives me confidence to make larger systems. With this video you have just planted more ideas in my head about what is possible.

I live off-grid in a solar powered house I built myself singlehandedly. Finally figured out how to charge my model 3 long range from the sun. I have four 300 watt solar panel gets full sun all day. I have a Growatt inverter which has an 80 amp MPPT charge controller built-in. I Have configured panels serial/parallel for 24 volt output. Growatt is split phase so it provides 240 volt output.Then I have four BattleBorn batteries. Get 28 miles per hour. $1250 for panels, $750 for Growatt inverter, $3000 for batteries, misc cables fuses $250, total $5, 250. Actually anticipating charging my cybertruk next year.

I have had your book for awhile but have only started to use it now as I was forced into retirement and have started to work on my van. Right now I am working on insulating the interior after which I' ll put in a 400 watt solar system and then drive off into the sunset. Keep up the great work. Love your videos.
