Udio has the best vocal and instrumental quality at the moment. Additionally, their website offers the best tools and a high level of control for producing your own music. However, personally, I much prefer the melodies and musical structure of Suno. The compositions are much more captivating and creative. Despite its limitations, Suno has more feeling and emotion in its generated music. I've created songs with it that are phenomenal—the melodic level of SunoAI is truly impressive, no exaggeration.

Suno is still the best, I like making song lyrics, but because I don't have my own instruments, I use Suno so that the lyrics I make can become a song, and Suno makes it all happen, Suno i❤u

It's definitely good that there are more options, but no way is it better than suno

Thoughts:
1. I do believe I know the guy who developed this. Cool people.
2. Model hallucinates like CRAZY at even the slightest bit of twisty flow.
3. Sound quality is poorer than suno
4. Generated lyrics... mostly better than suno or udio. The llm has a fascination with drinking and smoking though.
5. Credits are way too expensive to justify the quality of the outputs. You'll still have to put these through udio to clean them up, and you can save money by just using suno, which'll give you a more flexible lyrics parser and a more robust verse calculator. If it was a lot cheaper, I would use it.

I recently used Suno to create vocal tracks for about 8 different songs for a demo that I started 15 years ago. I’m extremely happy with the melodies(I wrote 99% of my own lyrics, and extracted the vocals to place into my original music tracks), and I love the voices and vocal style and almost everything about it… except for the quality. It’s not even the autotune most of the time, but all of the extra modulation type of effects and just a lot of extra noise when I extract the vocals from the track outputted from Suno.

So essentially, the next step for me is to use these demos to have a real vocalists professionally record all of it. Unless of course, the technology improves in a way that will allow me to simply upgrade the quality without sacrificing everything else that is good about the versions generated by Suno. I constantly have my eyes open now for whatever might come along to make this possible for me, but I’m skeptical and I don’t see it here.

As an independent solo artist I would love to see this stuff improved to the level where I can get results that are good for more than just a demo, but we’re not quite there yet.

Three things I want really badly:
1. upload a crap demo of a whole finished song, full band or guitar vocal, and it outputs a polished full master recording of same song. Tell it to add elements guitar solo, vocoder, harmony, etc.
2. put in a finished song in one genre, and have it output the same song in another genre
3. upload a full finished song I made, and have it output a way better mix/master without changing the elements of it.

I tried this but still prefer Udio, as it's more versatile. I'll keep visiting it though and see how it develops.

Many people like to talk about why one Ai music generator is better than the other. As a person that has been creating music for decades I feel that Udio has the best vocal quality so far. As for what the songs sound like with any Ai music generator, it comes down to the person using the application. What the user knows about working with the application and their overall understanding of how to create music, directly affects the end result. What sounds best is completely subjective and based on a persons preferences. I personally don't like it when the generated voice sounds robotic or atonal, it's a dead giveaway that the song was created with Ai and that ruins it for me. Not every ear that is judging is listening for the same things.

SUNO all the way! I'll figure out the tweaks, editing etc. Keep it old school, I like that. Let's just say I've been around the production block for a time. SUNO! Ospina approved

The only thing I like better than suno is the stems.
I'd also like Suno to be able to use an uploaded audio as a style guide instead of just a thing to expand on. What would be cool too would be to be able to regenerate a song with new lyrics. Sometimes you have nice lyrics, you find the perfect melody among what the AI generated, but a few days later you realize some of the lyrics need to be changed for different reasons, you can't redo the exact same melody and style with the new lyrics on SUNO, only way is to remake the instrumental in a DAW and record yourself over them.

I need to say it: I expect that I can say: do a funky bassline in c minor 90 bpm; after generating this I would ask: add drums, add chords and then eventually voice and then part II make a variation of the bass… etc and eventually have the different stems to elaborate in a daw, if possible into the interface itself or to integrate AI in fl studio, just to make another idea of how it could be done; then I would be interested in making something Manageable. Until then it’s a preparation to what I said before, but nothing can be really what it should be. I think we will get there soon, but now no one has made it.

Hey out of context but what video editing software or app do you use if you don’t mind sharing 😊

I wish there was an AI that could generate a song from my own melodic idea that I hum or whistle. I have a bunch of those. I know Udio has an upload tool, I tried it - nope, it cannot do anything with a whistled melody, it just creates more whistles.
