BigTreeTech Octopus v1.1 Board Prep and Wiring

This is the second video in my series on the BigTreeTech Octopus V1.1. In this video I walk through the board connections, considerations and show some crimping for the power terminals and JST connectors for optical endstops.

Disclaimer: BTT sent this board to me "free" and asked me to help get the word out on my views, and I happily obliged. I still had to purchase the steppers and do all the work to configure and install it which took a good day or so especially since the documentation is very sparse.

My goodness thiss is super helpful. I am rebuilding a TronxyX5SA with an octopus board running klipper and I am glad someone out there documented them figuring it out

Just wanted to say that there's a small hole on the top of jumpers where you can insert something sharp like a pick or one tip of a pair of tweezers to pull the jumper from the pins. No need to pry jumpers from te bottom.

I'm so confused by the 24v input, I dont know why there are 3 inputs but when I check to continuity between them they are all connected. When you initially ran 24v to just power did it not work or did you add the extra wires before even trying?

Bl touch I had to connect signal and ground to the z end stop or it would throw an error and not print

Hi, I know your setup is very different from mine, but I'm trying to run this board and I can't for the life of me get the extruder to move. I've preheated to 210, tried old extrusion, code looks fine, motor is fine as it works if I move to X port, but if I place X in E0 port then X does not work. However, drivers are fine too! Checked with TMC Debug, and also by manually switching the drivers with X and X still works fine. Got it to work with 1, but E0 seems to be dead? That the same on yours? I'm running Marlin by the way :)

I have been building a custom 24 x 36 printer. I have ran into a snag I could use some help with. I loaded ocroprint on my raspberry 4 just fine. I installed the plug in for octoklipper and it went fine. I went threw all the steps of getting kipper clone and running makeconfig. It all went fine. I created the firmware.bin file and flashed it to the Octopus Max ez and it chander the name to firmware.cur so I pretty sure it went fine. But her is my issue. From this point the pi and octoprint can not see the board. When I run the ls command to find the address it says there is nothing found. When I try and open the configuration file in Octopus to edit it says file does not exist...

What am I missing or what do I need to do different?

For anyone else reading that board was a nightmare to set up lol the bigtree manual is terrible I got it working the extruder plug needs to be moved over one or it won't extrude I had soo many problems lol it hurt my head

Très très très intéressante vos vidéos, j'ai un petit problème avec mon alimentation de la ender 3 pro, j'ai changé ma carte mère d'origine V1.1.4 pour une octopus V1.1 de bigtreetech et quand je fais le branchement du Bed et du moteur pas à pas directement sur l'alimentation comme le recommande le schéma de montage je n'ai pas de signal et quand je débranche la connexion du bed et moteur pas à pas ca fonctionne pensé vous que c'est un problème de voltage et qu'il faut que je change mon boitier d'alimentation. Merci encore pour vos partage. Belle journée lumineuse.
