**HAZMAT LEVEL 2 SITUATION** Markham Fire On Scene 14th Avenue & Middlefield Rd

Around 3pm on August 16 Markham Fire and Emergency Services responded to Aaniin Community Centre on 14th for a hazardous material call. Crews were on scene for 5 hours trying to figure out what harmful chemicals could be in the facility. 2 firefighters wearing hazmat suits were continuously entering and exiting the community Centre to try and figure out the problem with the facility. After 5 hours crews deemed the situation safe and began to stop all operation and cleared the scene. Specialty units were brought in for this emergency such as: York Regional Paramedics Emergency Response Units (ERU) and Markham fire's Airlight unit and a hazmat trailers.
