2021 Ford Mustang Mach E Dual Motor Ext. Battery Winter & Snow Test – Redline: Review

The new 2021 #FordMustangMachE is the first-ever all-electric Mustang from Ford. While some enthusiast may scold at the idea of a Mustang SUV, the #MustangMachE is the first-ever true EV competition to Tesla. During the cold wintery months in PA, we put the AWD system and extended range battery to the test on the #MachE to see if the lack of a heat pump hurts the performance of this electric #Mustang

Best test of any car I’ve ever seen. Real world driving. 👍

Awesome review. Thank you for getting some real world driving in with not ideal conditions.

The range dropped because it's predictive and you are driving in the snow and doing donuts. See: "It's still at 100%." It's changing the GOM based on weather and your current driving style. ...Not just because it doesn't have a heat pump.

Should have called it the "Model T" just to piss off Tesla.

I really like the idea and styling of this one and audi electric but they really need to improve on battery range and we need more charge stations

I really hope Ford comes out with an affordable compact car EV in the next few years.

great review for winter driving. What are your thoughts on the Mach-E's camera's and specifically if you think Ford might make them more similar to Tesla's version of dashcam/sentry mode? Would like to see your experiences with the EA charging system for potential road trips.

I just watched Alex in Autos drive the Mustang Mach E in sunny california range test posted today, and the same day, Soyfan driving the same car in the snow. LOL

Wow - this is pretty awesome. I wondered the same thing; does the 27 degree weather impact the range or anything else. I have never driven or reviewed this vehicle so thanks a million. Being in sunny (and hot) Miami, seeing the snow in the background is so cool. I appears to be pretty smooth with the stability control. Is it?

Don’t think a heat pump would work well on this EV. Both motors are permanent magnet motor so there’s not much heat for the pump to scavenge. I think all the EVs with heat pumps have an induction motor up front. Also there have been complaints about the heat pumps not always providing enough heat for the occupants in extremely cold climates.
Ford does need to improve the battery management, charging and maybe make more of the pack usable. I’m sure they’ll get there.

I have never experienced a heat pump but here in Chicago winters I'm sure I would not want one when it's below 20 degrees. Although I crank the heat in my Bolt and don't care about the range hit. I'd rather be warm and then just plug in a day sooner.

Hey Sofyan, I have a question unrelated to your video but I hope you could still answer it.

If there's a BMW 330e xdrive cheaper than a tesla model 3 LR Dual motor by 10K USD both new. Which would you pick to purchase?
