Ngl this event is kind of underwhelming for me. We’ve had the kanto starters available in mass for the pass two weeks so it’s kinda of boring to see them in the raids and wild, even if charizard has the party hat, doubly so for mega charizard being in raids. Plus zapdos is a cool legendary raid but, that’s it? It really feels like there should be more for an anniversary

Imagine the possible shadow shinies would be the Kanto starters. I personally would love a shadow shiny Charizard so much

Omg I am so excited about this! I wanted a suit for my avatar for a long time and those characters are looking mighty fly in those suits! Plus, I am MEGA excited about being able to tm frustration away again. I just got a shadow tyranitar and being able to use that on my shadow entei, latias, Zapdos and many more will be so good! Thanks for the info on what we got so far, can’t wait for this event!

Thanks for the update! I started 7/7/16 and I’m 100% FTP. Been a good journey.

Buddy functionality idea:
What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs.

Pros:
- This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon.
- Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex.

Cons:
- All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough
- Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned.

If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly.

Could it be this is why Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu was so powerful? Because Ash built a string relationship with him?

7/6/2016 - I remember being back home from college for summer break. I would go to a local college campus near my house with a bunch of Pokestops. Hundreds of people marched around campus. Multiple police showing up to see what was going on. "Popular" college students thinking my hermit ass was cool for having an extensive knowledge of Pokemon at the time. And of course people stopping whatever they were doing to sprint to a rare spawn. I will never forget playing there from quite literally sun up to sun down. Always people to talk to about what they caught no matter what time of the day. Life was good.

I actually downloaded the game on my iPad several years ago but I barely played it then I redownloaded it on my phone as a joke last year in July 2021 and then I deleted it right after and then I’ve been playing it consistently playing it since march this year and I’m level 35 and it’s really fun especially because of your videos!
