This AOC ultra wide monitor is superbly affordable for the specs (AOC CU34G2X review)

This is a casual review of the AOC CU34G2X, a 34-inch, ultra wide 1440p monitor, with 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and more.

This is a pleasantly awesome monitor for the price. Highlights include HDR, a brilliant refresh rate and monitor settings that include:

Low Blue Light mode (reading, office, internet, multimedia)
Eco mode
HDR modes (display, game, picture and movie)
Colour temperature
Game mode (FPS, RTS, Racing, Gamer 1, Gamer 2 and Gamer 3)
Overdrive settings (to adjust response time)
Motion Blur Reduction

I enjoyed using this one. The niggles were the fiddly menu buttons and perhaps too many different options, but it's responsive, has good viewing angles, looks fantastic for HDR and more.

This might well be one of the best gaming monitors for under $500/£500.

I have had the 100htz version for a while. Very happy with it and managed to overclock it to 102htz 😂

Today, I picked up mine that I order last week. When I set it up, there was a line of dead pixels and monitor LCD was cracked on the left. I'm not all that impressed with workmanship of the panel. I'm taking it back tomorrow.

I bought the same monitor but its 75hz and 29 inch. It was $70 clearance open box at Office Depot so It was too good to pass up. At first I got dizzy wasnt used to the ultrawide curve. But the Monitors colors is just absolutely amazing and Flight Simulator looks so real now. I love how I can work out of two programs. I will save up and get the 34 144hz tho. Does feel a bit too small at times.

Thank you for the good review. I'm currently using a 24"144 TN panel. This I think It will be a great upgrade but I am concerned about the black smearing of the VN pannel

Hi, do u still have the CU34G2X ?
There are some very negative comments of black smearing/heavy ghosting which can easily be reproduced by even scrolling on Win10 Dark Mode / Settings menu !!!
What's your final decision after 1.5yrs of use ?

busted my LG ultrawide 35inch 1440p panel that was I think 160hrz overclocked? regardless, loved and adored it.. but I dropped a spirit level onto it whilst attaching it to my driving sim rig. *fist bump* My desktop display is an LG Ultrawide 144hrz 1080p panel.. just.. isn't the same! so picked one of these up for the time being whilst I send out my 35inch to be repaired.
