Egg Cream Soda

INGREDIENTS

To make a 400ml tumbler

4 tbsp full fat milk
3 tbsp chocolate sauce
Soda water/carbonated water (enough to fill up the glass)

METHOD

- add milk to the glass
- add in soda/carbonated water
- pour in the chocolate sauce
- mix the chocolate sauce with the milk, making sure you do not stir the foam at the top too much as this will make the froth turn into a chocolate colour
- serve immediately as the froth will reduce if left
- Egg Cream Soda is ready to be served. Enjoy!

I was born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn in '59...I've never seen anyone add the syrup last (U-Bet is the choice to start with)...it was always first. Then the milk gets added and slowly stirred until it's well-blended. Finally, stir in the seltzer at a medium pace.

First you have to add the chocolate syrup then the cold milk then the seltzer water then you stir it

Great egg cream soda, haven't had this in a long time! Thank you for bringing back memories, will make something similar like this during Christmas time, but great recipe none the less! <3 Keep up the content, thanks for sharing. :)

Very nice example of egg cream...in NYC where the drink originated, the only chocolate syrup that was truly correct to use was FOX U-BET..that was the name of the brand, still made today, 80 years later...check it out on google if you don't believe...
