Dude when I was in basic training for the army we would literally dry fire our rifles for hours, practicing washer and dime drills. That's holding your rifle with a washer or dime on the barrel and dry firing until you learn to hold your rifle steady enough so the washer or dime no longer falls off.

Isn’t this the same guy that said that ar9s are dumb and also isn’t half the point of dry fire exercise is to keep the weapon still when it breaks glass that’s why they make those laser rounds for dry fire practice

You should not dryfire .22lr ARs without snap caps though. You will eventually break the firing pin.

Propper dry fire practice is a good mental exercise that will help you on the range. It's not a replacement for range time but will help build a good mental process and improve techniques.

My dad does this with me to test trigger flinch and steady aim by putting a coin on the slide

If my $1, 000+ rifle breaks from dry firing, I'm investing in a new company/operating system.

So my grandpa was talking about dry firing and he’s like every bastard says you shouldn’t do it blah blah and then I see him grab his 22 pistol and dry fire and then after a while, he said the only issue I’ve had with this gun as I need to replace the firing pin😂😂 I think I know why but no that’s only 22s

Get yourself a Mantis Blackbeard. Plenty of fun and useful, especially the updated version that combines it with their other training analytics tool. Dry firing with a visual aid (the laser) and not having to rack the damn thing every time you fire is great!

My firing pin from Wilson combat BCG broke from dry firing today into 3 pieces. So people should know it does cause normal wear and tear if you do it hundreds or thousands of times. You wouldn't believe the stupid people I ran into on Reddit today when I posted this and let them know I had 10 people get back to me saying the industry standard is to never dry fire an AR, I couldn't handle it
