The Hutting 54 ‘Polaris’ is a custom-made, Aluminium sailing yacht, specially designed for even the most extreme sail destinations of the owners. Freezing the Explorer sail yacht in the ice off the coast of Greenland for months was just one of the dreams they have realized.

For many years in a row, the owners have travelled with their Hutting 54 Polaris into areas as Disko Bay in Greenland, the Newfoundland waters off the coast of Canada, the Icelandic waters as well as the total opposite: the Caribbean.

For this reason, extra features are added to both the interior and the exterior to make the sailing in extreme and various climate conditions as safe and comfortable as possible with this explorer sailing yacht.

To ensure maximum safety and comfort, the Hutting 54-Polaris has many special features. With its extra-thick Alustar aluminium hull, 70mm melamine-foam isolation material and many extra, smart storage capacity for food, water and fuel, the yacht is well-prepared for the ice. A reliable multi-way heating system, with a triple back up power source, ensures comfortable conditions even at -40°C. Whereas the light and open interior of the Polaris brings you close to the beautiful nature that surrounds you.

I have sailed many yachts, but this is by far one of the most top notch yachts I have ever seen. Minor thing for me: I would like to have the cockpit hardtop so as to be completely warm while sailing and not to have to endure the icy winds with a sailsuit. Otherwise, very nice yacht by Hutting.

Greenland would be my choice and a trip through the northern passageway. What a wonderful couple of years that would be.
I so love the boat and know just a wee bit about her majestic adventures. I like everything but the real helm. I'm obsessed with how Amel makes the main helm station at the front of the cockpit. More shelter from weather especially in the cold and wet regions

Excellent yacht and design. I am an admirer of KM yachts who are building a new Pelargic 77 for Skip Novak who knows a bit about sailing in high latitudes. If I had this boat I would explore the Arctic, Eastern Greenland and also head to the Falklands and South Georgia. I own and sail a Rival 32 from 1974. Not ideal for high latitudes but a solid boat I can easily sail solo. Look forward to the next video. Andy UK

It's been a dream of mine to retire relatively early and have enough saved for spending the rest of my lifetime on the seas. A yacht such as this would be ideal as I do not only plan to spend my days in the warmth of the Southern Pacific or the Med. I plan to sail all over the world and need a yacht purpose built for the job. A dream of mine is to sail around the Americas, From the Northwest passage and then south to round Cape Horn. Planning to explore both the Antarctic and the Arctic and pretty much everything in between. The fjords of Norway are also very appealing along with my home country of Iceland. This yacht would suit me nicely.

Single wheel. Of course. It's suddenly obvious to me. Are there multiple cameras for boats yet? Like a Tesla or my son's Audi, which can give you a bird's eye view showing the entire perimeter of the car (like having a dedicated drone). If this isn't available for boats yet, it soon will be. I've seen the top of the mast cameras. They're good, but soon it should be better. That double helm design is about to become obsolete. Just thinking out loud.
