You’ve got to live how almost everyone unanimously agrees that Sony owning fromsoft is just awful. Like they want the brand but the will die the moment that people feel Sony have power over it even if they don’t end up using it people will have no faith in the product moving forward.

For those curious: FromSoft currently owns Elden Ring and Sekiro, Sony owns BB and Demon's Souls, and finally Bandai Namco owns Dark Souls 1-3.

I just don’t understand why Sony won’t green light Bloodborne 2. Miyazaki has said that he is up for making a Bloodborne sequel but Sony is holding the IP hostage. It makes no sense. They will pour money into sinking ships like Concord (a game that nobody wanted), but won’t allow a game that almost every Sony fan has been begging for, for over a decade.

For those who don’t understand why -
They’re making a AAA rated game with a huge franchise.. that’s affordable - not 300gb in size - and has a huge fan base that continues to play the games over and over and over again. No micro transactions… nothing. And their games are massive. No season pass. Nothing. So yea, they’re going to try and buy out a company that makes them look bad and lose money.

I know this video is outdated so it isnt on the recent News but it was actually fromsoft’s parent company kadokawa who offered to sell itself to Sony. Also currently the contract has passed and Sony only got around 10% of kadokawa and will not be able to control anything regarding the games themself or What they do, basically this deal is just fromsoft getting aditional financial help from Sony and Sony getting a Share of fromsofts profit. So in the end this deal in theory sounds pretty bénéficias for us and miyazaki.

Not just fromsoft, they also want to buy kadokawa, their parent company, to further their dominance over anime and manga. Hopefully they aren’t dumb enough to take the deal.
