The group is rejecting the possible coalition with the DA, some calling it a racist party.

The committee is the highest decision-making body of the ANC between national conferences and has the power to decide the course of the party.

The ANC has been in power for 30 years but lost its majority in the elections.
It secured just over 40% of the national vote, while the main opposition, the DA, got 21.8%.
