The theme of this exploratory journey is the Aristarchos Telescope of the National Observatory of Athens and the broader area. It is the largest research infrastructure of the government in Greece and the second biggest telescope in Continental Europe. The telescope has been included in the European program “OPTICON”, where the biggest and most modern telescopes of Europe are included. The telescope started it’s operation in 2008 located on mount Helmos, on the mountain top called Neraidorachi, at an altitude of 2.340 meters and since then monitors galaxies, nebulae and planets outside our solar system.
This documentary explains in a simple and understandable way, through interviews, videos, simulations and images, what happens and is observed in our galaxy and in other galaxies, the black holes, the genesis of our solar system, the Big Bang theory and thoughts are expressed about the end of the universe.
