Honestly, the player is 95% of every instrument I've ever played. There's nothing more depressing than hearing a professional sound amazing while playing your sad equipment.

I don't think people realize that Brett and Eddy's violins are probably worth like $10k + maybe even more. Those are old violins and they are professionals.

I have looked up Brett's instrument. He plays an old Scrollavetza which goes for between the $20k-$30k range (AT AUCTION = MORE FOR RETAIL).
Another thing I want to mention is that Benny's bow also makes a huge difference at that level. It could perhaps be a Pecatte or a Tourte which costs more than Brett's violin alone ( ~$100k respectively)
