Black History Month - House of Worship Advances Oneness
The Bahá’í House of Worship in Wilmette, IL recently hosted a month-long series of events during February, dedicated to the theme of "African Americans and the Arts.”

Throughout the United States, observances and events are held every February to celebrate African American history, honor its achievements and reflect on the numerous contributions of people of African descent to humanity.

Gatherings at the Bahá’í temple invited hundreds of people to come together from surrounding neighborhoods, states and beyond providing an opportunity to explore the spiritual principles of the oneness of humanity and racial unity.

These principles were expressed in a Pop-up gallery and artist panel of work by people of African descent, and a unique community art project "Weaving a Vision of Justice!", a youth talent show which showcased prayers, songs, music, poetry and more an Intimate Dialogue on Race inviting conversations and an immersive theatre Robert "The Door" Turner: From Darkness Into Light.

Oneness entails recognizing the essential contributions of every individual and group. Everyone has the chance to enhance humanity; everyone has the right to benefit. The contribution of each enriches the whole.

So great to see that the activity focus on deeds not words - something following AbdulBaha s footsteps.
