For those of you who are still having trouble, here's another solution. On your keyboard press Fn + F12. Fn is at the bottom of the keyboard near the CRTL and spacebar, and F12 should have a little picture of an antenna or an airplane. The antenna/airplane might be on a different Function key, so press that one instead. Press both keys at the same time and that should turn on the ability to connect to Wi-Fi.

I don't know how you have a mouse to demonstrate to us with, while your computer is in airplane mode. ??? That's the whole problem is that the Bluetooth mouse won't work in airplane mode. Is that a corded mouse that you're using?
